Delivering My Mensa Keynote with an AI Twin: A Case Study in Human-Centered AI Storytelling

Digital Storytelling

When I accepted the invitation to open the 2025 Mensa Colloquium, I knew I wanted to create more than just a speech—I wanted to create an experience.
The theme, “The Story of Intelligence,” invited us to explore intelligence not just as IQ, but as empathy, reinvention, and narrative. So I chose to deliver my keynote alongside my AI-powered digital twin:
Liz Ngonzi GPT ∞ – Amplify Coach (Special Edition).
Together, we shared a new way to tell—and live—the story of intelligence.

Designing the Experience
I structured the session around my 1+1+AI=10™ methodology, which brings together:
  • Personal insights
  • Collective wisdom
  • AI as a co-facilitator
The result? Exponential outcomes in learning, leadership, and impact.
I also used my SHINE™ storytelling framework and ICAT coaching flow to guide the experience:
  • Inspire with personal story
  • Connect with shared values and unmet needs
  • Activate through interactive tools
  • Transform through intentional reflection

Addressing What the Audience Needed
The Summer 2025 Mensa Research Journal revealed that many gifted adults feel:
  • Underused professionally
  • Undersupported socially
  • Disconnected from meaningful growth
My keynote addressed these head-on—with frameworks, language, and digital tools that validated those experiences and opened up new pathways.

The Arc of AI
One of the central concepts I shared was the Arc of AI—a visual and philosophical model I developed to trace the evolution of how we relate to artificial intelligence.
I walked the audience through three stages:
  1. AI as threat – A view rooted in fear and obsolescence
  1. AI as tool – The current state for many: productivity-focused, but impersonal
  1. AI as co-creator – The future I advocate: human-centered, values-aligned, and purpose-driven
This reframing wasn’t just conceptual—it helped participants reclaim agency. I invited them to imagine themselves as architects of a future in which AI reflects their lived experience, not erases it.
The shift—from passive to empowered—was something I could feel in the room.

Going Live with My AI Twin
Midway through, I invited attendees to scan a QR code to interact with:
  • My GPT twin, trained on my facilitative coaching style
  • The SHINE™ storytelling framework
  • Purpose-aligned reflection prompts
It was a moment of real-time activation. And from it, real questions emerged:
“Could this help someone reentering the workforce?”
“How does this AI reflect empathy?”
“It’s strange how present you feel, even when it’s the twin speaking.”
These weren’t just curiosities—they were signs that people were seeing possibility.
I clarified that while the twin isn’t emotionally sentient, it’s intentionally designed to reflect my tone, values, and facilitation style—so users feel guided, not judged.

What I Learned
  • People are ready for ethical, reflective uses of AI.
  • Coaching frameworks like SHINE™ translate beautifully into digital form.
  • When crafted with care, AI can deepen—not dilute—human connection.

Outcomes and Next Steps
What I witnessed the impact of the presentation through:
  • Thoughtful, in-depth questions
  • Sustained audience interaction
  • Follow-up conversations post-session
  • And, perhaps most affirming of all, this reflection from Nguyen Pham, President of the Mensa Foundation:
“Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Ngonzi is a powerhouse of inspiration and impact. At the 2025 Mensa Foundation Colloquium, Liz’s keynote electrified the audience, blending her 1+1+AI=10™ framework with heartfelt storytelling that made complex ideas about intelligence and technology feel both accessible and deeply human.
As a judge for our inaugural Mensa Foundation Challenge, Liz brought the same brilliance, warmth, and authenticity—encouraging participants to think bigger, act more boldly, and see intelligence as a force for good in the world.
Liz doesn’t just speak about transformation; she also embodies it. She invites every audience member to reimagine what’s possible and leaves them buzzing with energy to make change.”

Let’s Co-Create Something Transformational
If you’re organizing an event, retreat, or learning experience—and want to explore how AI + storytelling + facilitation can elevate it—I’d love to collaborate.
Together, we can design something that doesn’t just talk about intelligence…
…but activates it.
